Doctor of Philosophy in Science and Technology


Eligibility



  • Applicants with Masters Degree in relevant area of Engineering/Technology/Science with at least 60% marks or an equivalent grade from Xth standard onwards.
  • Applicants with more than 5 years industry/teaching experience may be granted relaxation up to 5% in their Master’s degree aggregate marks or equivalent grades. (For instance a person having 55% marks in Masters Degree with 5 years or more relevant experience would be considered equivalent to a person with 60% marks but having no work experience).
  • Applicants with Master’s Degree in Science (M. Sc.)/Computer Application (MCA) with at least 60% marks or an equivalent grade from Xth standard onwards. Applicants with more than 5 years industry/teaching experience may be granted relaxation up to 5% in their Master’s degree aggregate marks or equivalent grades, as explained above.
  • Applicants with Bachelor’s Degree in relevant area of Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks or an equivalent grade from Xth standard onwards and at least 5 years relevant industry/teaching experience.


How to Apply


Admission & Selection Procedure:

  • Applicants fulfilling minimum eligibility requirement as mentioned above shall be required to appear in a Research Aptitude Test and interview by Faculty Research Committee (FRC)/College Research Committee (CRC).
  • The FRC/CRC shall test the potential of the applicants for conducting research and his/her academic capabilities through a process of formal presentation and/or any specified aptitude test.
  • Based on the academic record and the performance of the applicant on the Research Aptitude Test and Interview, the FRC/CRC shall recommend to the Academic Council the names of the successful candidates, along with set of course recommended for the candidates (existing courses/specially devised courses) for admission to the PhD program.
