The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination ( WBJEE 2012) is conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board for admission into various Undergraduate Courses in Engineering / Technology / Medical / Dental / Veterinary and Pharmacy in Universities / Colleges in West Bengal and B. Arch. Course in Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur and Jadavpur University.


WBJEE 2012 Entrance Dates: Scheduled for 15 April 2012

Exam Pattern:

WBJEE exam pattern is replica to other exam formats, with 80 % of multiple choice question and  20% short answer. WB JEE engineering entrance examination form contain instruction in bengali format. The students of west bengal higher secondary education & central ISC board can take test. They must be citizen of india, with age group of 17 to 24 years, with minimum qualification (10 +2) . West Bengal, its state government controlled centralized test for many institution private and government- engineering colleges. This test is taken just after 12th grade. West bengal offers various professional courses in various fields- engineering, technology, architecture.

In west bengal JEE has three papers conducted in same day as according to WB JEE paper planning as below..

Paper 1: Mathematics
Paper 2: Physics & chemistry
Paper 3: Biological sciences Students who are appearing for engineering will opt for engineering & architectures courses; will have to appear for paper 1&2. For students who are appearing for in medical will opt paper 2&3. The board conduct exam on all india basis. To crack the exam the student must have deeper knowledge of subjects- physics, chemistry, maths & biology. All the questions are of objective types followed by subjective portion. The first paper contains physics & chemistry followed by second paper is of mathematics.


The latest Pattern of West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WB JEE) to get admission into wbjee engineering degree courses is as follows:

Each wbjee question paper (Biology, Physics + Chemistry - one paper, Mathematics) carries 100 marks.

The wbjee question paper consists of multiple Choice type questions (MCQ) and short answer type questions .80% marks is allotted to Multiple Choice type questions (MCQ), (four options including single correct answer) and 20% marks will be allotted to short answer type questions. For each incorrect response (answer) 33.33% of mark is deducted.

Eligiblity



The applicant must be a citizen of India and should have passed the H.S. ( 10+2 ) or its equivalent examination. The general candidates must have to secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biological Sciences taken together ( 40% for SC / ST candidates ) and at least 30% marks in English ( for all categories ). In addition, candidates must secure at least pass marks in the subjects individually including vernacular ( or any other fifth subject ) as mentioned below :

WBJEE 2012 Eligibility for B.E / B.Tech. / B.Arch :

Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject.

WBJEE 2012 Eligibility for M.B.B.S / B.D.S / B.V.Sc :

Physics, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject.

WBJEE 2012 Eligibility for Pharmacy :

Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biological Sciences, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject.

Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in 2012 will be allowed to sit for JEM – 2012 provisionally and their admission, if merit listed, will be subjected to satisfying the minimum requirements of eligibility as specified above.

WBJEE 2012 Age Restriction :

Applicant shall be between 17 years and 24 years of age on 31st December 2012.

There is no upper age limit except for the Marine Engineering course for which the upper age limit is 25 years as on 31.07.2012.

Residential Requirements for West Bengal JEE 2012 :

Candidates desirous of seeking admission to Government Engineering / Technology Colleges, Govt. Medical and Dental Colleges as well as to Private Medical and Dental Colleges, must have been residing in the State of West Bengal continuously at least for last 10 ( ten ) years as on 31.12.2011 or their parents must be permanent resident of West Bengal having their permanent home address in the State of West Bengal.

WBJEE 2012 Reservation :

Reservation for SC / ST / PC candidates are as per State Govt. Rules.

WBJEE 2012 Exam Centres : To be located in the State of West Bengal and Tripura.

How To Apply


WBJEE 2012 Application Kit ( i.e., prescribed printed Application Form along with Information Brochure and a printed window envelope ) will be available from different Branches of United Bank of India ( as specified below ) on payment of  500/ – ( for E / M type Form ) and  600/ – ( for C type Form ) in cash.

WBJEE 2012 Application Kit may also be obtained by Post from the Board’s Office on application with an additional fee of  Rs. 200/ – ( Rupees two hundred ) only. The total amount ( i.e., cost of WBJEE 2012 application form plus  200/ – ) has to be paid by Demand Draft drawn in favour of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board” payable at Howrah / Kolkata.

The last date for making request for wbjee application kit by post is 06th January, 2012 and the last date for receipt of completed application form by Speed Post only is 24th January, 2012.

Request for WBJEE application form received beyond the stipulated date as mentioned above will not be entertained and the Board shall not be held responsible in any manner whatsoever for such non – receipt arising out of postal delay.

WBJEE Application Kit may also be obtained from the Board’s Office only with payment of actual cost of the form plus late fee of Rs.  300/ – ( Rupees Three hundred ) only from 19th January, 2012 to 21st January, 2012. In that case, the whole amount is to be paid through a Bank Draft to be drawn in favour of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board” payable at Kolkata / Howrah.

WBJEE 2012 Application Form once purchased cannot be returned or replaced.
